BERRYMAN AND HENIGAR

Proposal Management, Engineering

Managed, edited and coordinated the proposal writing process which helped Berryman and Henegar, a civil engineering firm based in San Diego win the $12 million renovation of the Snohomish County Recycling and Transfer Station. The debriefing session revealed that Berryman and Henigar received top scores for their proposal and presentation.



LOCKWOOD GREENE

Lead Identification Study, Engineering

Surveyed the top 10 microelectronics firms in the Pacific Northwest to learn about their needs for engineering and architecture services, their selection criteria and the viability of establishing a Portland office. This project involved identifying the key decision makers, interviewing them by telephone, analyzing the data, writing and summarizing the results. Several new opportunities for work were discovered and alliances formed with key decision makers. The resulting new work enabled the Seattle office to increase its staff from 24 to 60 over a three year time period.

DAILY JOURNAL OF COMMERCE

Internal Operations Analysis, Newspaper

Completed and extensive internal operations analysis for the Daily Journal of Commerce newspaper and plan center. The purpose of this study was to examine employee attitudes toward management, their role in the firm and their ideas as to how to increase subscriptions to the newspaper and add customers to the plan center. A new general manager was hired to implement the recommendations from this study which focused on improving internal communications, productivity and increasing name familiarity among potential subscribers and customers.

FWL Architects

Marketing Plan, Architecture


Completed the annual marketing plan which enabled the firm to enter new markets, broaden its client base and increase sales 30 percent. Assisted with corporate name change, new identity package and wrote and produced a seven color, 12-page brochure. Increased name familiarity of FWL with on-going news stories about firm's achievements.

Completed an internal analysis to determine strengths and weaknesses of the firm. Results enabled the five principals of the firm to make a desired management transition. The 12-page, five color brochure was a significant improvement over the loose leaf, black and white brochure previously used by the firm to prospect for new business. Submitted press releases on firm’s achievements.

GHAFARI ASSOCIATES INC.

This engineering and architecture firm wanted to know the potential for their services in 17 of the fastest growing industries throughout the United States. Industries ranging from electronics to pharmaceuticals were surveyed and four new markets and several vertical market applications were identified.

Work was secured with General Motors to design their automotive plants. Numerous other new leads were generated and new work increased from $8 to $12 million in one year. Research was conducted on the market potential of an office in Indianapolis. The results of this research allowed Ghafari Associates to open the office six months later.



MILLER CONSULTING ENGINEERS
Marketing Plan, Engineering

Researched, analyzed and wrote the annual marketing plan for this structural engineering firm. Components of the plan included a management analysis, client and prospective client survey and industry analysis of target markets. Results included clearer firm direction, increased knowledge of current clients, new knowledge of prospective clients and clearly outlined goals and objectives to achieve the marketing strategies.



PAE CONSULTING ENGINEERS INC.

Marketing Plan, Engineering

Created the annual marketing plan which provided identification of new target markets and increased knowledge of existing markets. Implemented the marketing plan by established new marketing systems, broadening client base in Portland and developed a new market in Seattle. Developed firm’s first public relations program that included luncheon slide presentation, press releases and brochures. Broadened perception of its role in the marketplace and increased demand for its services.
